On the harddrive IDE connector on the WP mother board, which side is 1st pin?

I am going to hook up my harddrive now to my webplayer. I opened it up and tried to determine which pin of the IDE connector is 1st pin, but I can't. Which side, on the motherboard, should the red side of the cable be facing? The front (screen, powerbutton etc) or the back (USB, modem jack)?

There should be a pin missing on the Webplayer's IDE header. There should also be one missing on your hard drive. Install the cable so that the same wire in the cable "connects" these missing pins.

To make it simple: Red line towards the back (USB, etc.).
