Got my DOC programmed.. what next?

I got my doc back from i-hacked.com He had very fast turn around time... I put the doc in my web player.. nothing happens.. I get both the Power and the Email notification lights on and off hook goes on then off.. and the power buttons does nothing... Am I missing a step somewhere? If I remove the doc.. the default virgin screen pops up.. and the power button works. I have done nothing else to my web player.. I did use it on the virgin service a few times, but other than that.. Nothing... Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Assuming the DOC is inserted correctly in the socket, check your BIOS settings.

In the BIOS configuration, make sure the applicable Boot option is set for 'Win95' and not 'Other'. I'm not at my WebPlayer now so I can't tell you the exact menu option.

Hope this helps.

If all you did was pull the DOC, did not make any changes in the bios, then all you should have to do is plug it back in, however it sounds like you may have put it in backwards, and that is not a good thing.

I also want to add that all DOC's are checked in my Webplayer before I send it back out. You may also want to make sure that the doc is fully inserted..

hevnsnt2, I never ment to imply that you did not do top notch work... It is I who am the total screwup. I can not say enough about how profeshional you were with the whole process... Very fast replies to my emails, and very fast turn around on the doc programming... top notch work. As it turns out I am a jackass.. I put the chip in backwards.... go figure... now on the the next question... can the doc be reprogrammed? or is it dead. If it can be reporgrammed... then I will once again turn to the experties of hevnsnt2 at I-Hacked.com for his service. Which I can have the chip, service fee and shipping in the mail tomorrow if that is the case...

dave -

i threw a harddrive in my webplayer on day one and the DOC is just sitting in there doing nothing. it is untouched and works great when the harddrive isnt connected. if you want it, you can have it for the cost of shipping. it isnt doing me any good and lord knows i have made my share of dumb mistakes and somebody alwasy seemed to help me fix whatever i had screwed up. guess i am just trying to make everything right in the universe...

anyway, email me at brian250 at hotmail dot com if you are interested.

one more question: what is the best way to remove the DOC from the webplayer? can it be done via the door on the bottom, or should i open it up? will a standard chip puller do the trick if i go slow and watch the pins? i dont want to get the kids hopes up and then screw up my DOC trying to get it to him.

thanks,

Well I have been doing a lot lately, and my first thought was to take it apart and do it that way. I have found that taking the door off, then using a small to medium flat head screwdriver works the best.. Make sure to get under the DOC and not the socket before you lift. Then lift up a bit, move the screw driver in, lift up, move screw driver in, lift up, etc.. until it pops out..
