A while ago, (I can't find which post) someone pointed to a shortcut where 3Com was offering a trial pack of some sort for qualified persons. I got a phone call today saying that I am qualified, and my kit will be here in ~14 days.. when I get it, I'll post what info I can easily glean...

well, my trial pack showed up, but the miniPCI nic is marked as non functional. It has 2 wires added to the board and a trace is cut. Further, the cables to connect it to anything are not included. On another note, tehy also sent a type 3 PCMCIA nic/modem in a sealed package.. too bad that's not what I wanted.. :(

Somewhere, on a message board in a galaxy that I don't remember where; There's a link to 3Coms Business Promotions division.. fill out a form, say you are responsible for lots of laptops and have a really big budget, and have a commercial supplier (I use Marshall) and they send you a sample kit. I had considered trying to get this to work myself btu if your really interested in it send me an offer at programmer at bethie dot net , and I'll try to decide to let it go..
Note: there's no rj45 connector.. just the board; you'll need to make an adapter for the connector yourself..

I am trying to find info or part # for the ethernet dongle associated with these cards. Has anyone been able to find such a part, or atleast a pinout for the ethernet? I would like to either buy or make such a dongle to utilize a mini-pci card.
