Getting files onto Webplayer

I couldn't find the answer to this question in the search, and it may be a stupid question, but.... I have received a webplayer with 98Lite installed, I have a Netgear USB to Ethernet adapter so that I can connect it to my network, however I cannot install the adapter, I need to get the installation files onto the Webplayer.

What is the easiest way of doing this, I don't have a hard drive connected to the machine, since I was going to use my network for storage.

Help appreciated

Some ideas: Another computer, two phone lines, and a comm program. Or use direct cable connecti over a USB->USB cable designed for that purpose.

umm i think you should just shell out for the SMC USB to ethernet adapter.

Place the Netgear driver files on your network. If the modem works, then just dial into your network and download them to your Webplayer.

Is the SMC already supported on 98Lite ? What about a USB to USB cable, does this require software ?

Do what I did for the first time, dialup to the internet and download the driver for your ethernet adapter.. Then install your ethernet and then forget about it..

It's been suggested a few ways: the easiest thing is to use the modem. If you can set up your account through the stock dialup settings in W98, do that. Otherwise get another computer with a modem (a friend, or if you have two phone lines in your house, use them) and dial into that.

Thanks for the input, but I've got a DSL account connected to a network, no dial-up. Is there a way I can connect two compters directly via modems (ie without 2 phone lines) ?
