Strange audio problem

Beats me...Installed w98se on an HD and I've installed the 3000w95 combo drivers and while audio seems to play ok intermally (I can see the sound meters in the sound pannel) but nothing comes out !
When I boot from the DOC (iedoc98 image) sound is fine.
Any thoughts ?

ok muting line-in did the trick !
