Is there a DOC Image with updated IE Java client?

I'm having a blast with my new Webplayer. I also want to use it as a convenient way to IM people, but the Java based AOL IM client will not run without the updated Java client in IE.

Windows keeps complaining that there is not enough disk space to install the update. I even tried installing it off a mapped drive on the network.

While the thing might require more that 6MB of free space DURING the install, I know the update itself should fit in the end... are there DOC images out there with this pre-installed?

Thanks
Yoshi

I have the regular verison of AIM on mine and Netscape. Here is what I did. I DL'd the Opera Image, removed everything that was useless to me. (Opera, ZoneAlarm, Naviscope, etc.) Now comes the tricky part. You have to extract the files out of the Netscape setup. The easy way I found to do this is on your desktop computer, empty out the Temp directory in your windows folder. Start the Netscape Installation. (it will unpack itsself to the temp dir). Then Create a new folder, and copy the items now in your temp folder to the new folder. Then from your webplayer map to the folder on your desktop and install. I chose to run Netscape 4.08 base install, cause I dont use it to check my email. With Netscape 4.08 and AOL's AIM installed I had 4 megs left on the HD. I now have netscape installed on a mapped drive, and I am trying to get Word to install to the same mapped drive, no luck so far.

While we're looking for DOC images, I am still trying to find the one with the LinkSys USB driver. aadam12 posted a while ago he had one, but the FTP link is out of site, and the terrific i-hacked.com site only seems to have iedoc.img with just the UMC. Or a version with a wireless Dlink USB driver would be great.

Thanks

guy2000... You can just download the driver from linksys, unzip it, then either email them to your WP or save them on its HD. I think I emailed mine back then, and didn't even have a HD attached at the time.

Thanks. Actually though I am running diskless and am having trouble dialing out so wanted to go straight through my LAN w/ DSL router etc.

I am using a hacked websurfer to program the DOC, so what I just did which seems to work is copy the files over to the DOC after programming it but before removing it from the websurfer.

It would be nice though to get a complete package, as I have had to reprogram the DOC several times... the file system had errors which I couldnt recover from easily.

I am still having trouble connecting to web sites with the latest IEDOC.img. I can reach other computers on my LAN now so I know the network connection is okay, and the DNS is working okay (it starts to open the page, but then just sits there waiting for data). Has anyone else had this problem with the IEDOC?

Thanks,
Guy

The problem with IE turned about to be 3 bytes in the IMG file that didnt transfer properly the first time I downloaded it. I redownloaded it, reinstalled and things are working great.
