Hi everyone. I'm all set with my webplayer. IDE cable came in and the case is open. Unfortunately, I am having THE WORST luck with hackwp.exe file on i-hacked.com. It keeps coming up with bad CRC errors at around 98% of decompress. I've tried from 3 different workstations from three different sites and I keep getting the same error.

Does anyone have a solution on getting a good copy of hackwp.exe?

Yes I had the same problem yesterday. Thought it must have been my connection.

Anyway, I have had better luck at the FTP site.

Whoops! Sorry about that. I thought you were referring to an alternate site. I did check out the URL. No sign of the file although I did find the .img file.

If anyone might know of an alternative site with the complete image, could you please refer it to me?

I found the easiest thing was to download the IMG file from the FTP site, and then go back to the HTTP site and download the auto-install package on its own. Extract the files and then, assuming you went for the IE version, rename IEDOC.IMG that you downloaded from the FTP site as EMBED98.IMG and put in the same directory. Then just run HACKWP and it works wonderfully.

Thanks to those who put this stuff together and who are hosting it. I am amazed at how easy it was to hack this puppy without even taking the back off... I just undid that little door with an eyeglass screwdriver, popped the DOC out, put in my websurfer, put it back and everything worked! The only glitch was my download manager messed up 3 bytes in the IMG file first time round. Oh well.
