How do I create my own .img file for DOC?
Customized .img file for DOC

Had a chance to install the hackwp file from the i-hacked site. Although I was getting CRC errors when I unzipped the file, the OS worked fine but a few apps including Opera did not work.

After tinkering around, I figured that I had no need for a browser. The machine was intended to be an email client with picture browsing capabilities only, for my mom. Hey, the simpler the better.

With that in mind, how do I create my own Windows Lite based .img file to install into DOC? Also, what would be the best (easiest) email client to use?

Thanks!

The IMG comes from the DOC. I don't think there's a utility that creates an IMG from files like an ISO. You're gonna have to install the OS on a hard drive then copy the finished product to the DOC. Then if you still want to create an IMG, here's the place to get the utilities to create an image of the DOC:

Email... Outlook Express is pretty easy to use. Or just teach her Hotmail to save space. :)

Hmmm, ok that makes sense. When I perform the copy though, is it just a plain xcopy? Never did anything like this before. I did try an xcopy of one drive to another in hopes of backing it up, but the destination drive turned master drive never worked as expected.

"xcopy /e /h" I think should work, or maybe Ghost. The last time I tried it, I think I just overwrote the existing compressed drvspace.000 file. If it's a different version, you need to SYS the DOC. If you are copying the DOC to the HD, you need to make the partition an active primary, SYS it, and probably make it the first bootable drive in the BIOS.
