Where to get memory/cooling/everything?

Where did you all buy your memory from? I understand that if it will work depends on how many chips are on the actual stick. I would prefer memory that could fit in the case without modding it. Where's the lowest prices for 128 and 256 meg SODIMMs?

What about cooling? I heard about the one originally made for the i-opener that can be changed over for the webplayer. Where can I get that?

The answer to all your questions have been answered here.
I suggest you use the search function.

Yep I know how to do that. However, I thought itd be nice to have one thread where one could find such information. I can go through the trouble of finding all of that info. again along with everyone else who has just started to hack theirs but I figured that maybe a few kind citizens can sacrifice 30 seconds of their day to help out their fellow hardware hackers.

But thanks for your utterly useless reply to the thread.

KRAY and many others just don't want the BBS gummed up with repetive stuff. I found the answers to all the questions that you asked by searching when I was a WP newbie and it is amazing how much you can learn by going through the search process and reading the threads that come up.

That being said, I got my 128Kb meomory for just over $30 (after rebate) at Best Buys. It is an 8 chip SODIMM by PNY. There is a link to a mail order place somewhere in one of the threads that is a little cheaper but I am not positive that it is compatible.

Tennmax (they have advert banners/links on the BBS from time to time)makes the Lasagne fan for the CPU.

Check out Kray's site for lots of good technical information on the WebPlayer.

Regards and sorry for gumming up the BBS,

Simba

Check out Apacer.com I just bought a 128m Mem
module off ebay (from Apacer.com) and it has the 4 chip wide (8 all together)requirements. You can get any kind of module for the Web Player you want off there.
