I have scoured the board looking for the answer, but to no avail. I recently installed a hard drive in my webplayer. It has Win ME on it and has the standard 64mb of ram. I can't figure out why itt'll just freeze when I let it sit for awhile. I thought it may have power/standby issues but have tried eveything suggested under those topics. Does anyone else have this problem? It occurs almost every day about an hour after I stop using it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. -Pete

RE:Random system freeze, diagnosis? (modified 0 times)
I have disabled all the power saving features as far as I know. I used the "Force APM 1.0" check box but checking it on and off had no effect. I have a feeling that it may be a heat issue but I'm not sure. -Pete

I couldn't find anything about autohack. What does this do? Also, is there a temperature sensor on the motherboard that could be read from windows? I still seem to think this is a heat issue becaue the length of time before it freezes changes when I move the hard drive. I think I will let it run with the cover off to try and see if heat is an issue. -Pete

My Webplayer would freeze up playing MP3 files unless I had the cover off. I drilled an array of holes above the CPU, and it will play all day without a problem now. I thought about buying one of those lasagna fans, but the holes seem to work fine.
