Eratic Mouse behavior
Does your mouse go jerky

After running my WP in WinME for a while, I noticed that the mouse movement on my WP became jerky after a while, and the system would occassionaly freeze. I originally thought this could be a memory or video driver related problem, and started playing with the BIOS timing settings. However it did not solve the problem. I then discovered through searches on the web that Win9x and ME have a problem with installing vxd drivers, and even though you think all the devices are working fine, in fact they are not. This link explains more http://www.speedguide.net/Windows/win_bugs.shtml - I did a search of c: to try to find vmouse.vxd and it was not there but by copying all the vxd's from the Win_20.cab in ME to the correct windows directories the driver info in the mouse info panel in the Control Panel/System changed, and it definitely resolved the mouse and freezing problem, and maybe even others that I was not aware of yet!

Hope this helps someone

Ciao!
