He he, found the President of VEG's partner in this stupid affair.

Sent her the following message.
Started getting phone calls from the suits the next morning. They practically were going to drive out and pick it up personally.

Frankly, I think they are done.

PPS, email Audrey and her friends.
Post what happens.

FYI,

I am currently in the process of starting up a website devoted to detailing the pain in the a$$ its been trying to return this damn WebPlayer.
Whether this is VEG or IAN's responsibility, I don't know. However, under CA law, it is apparently possible to win a judgement against a
company which advertises or sells a product in a deceitful manner.
Being unable to return this webplayer, and being threated with a $500 penalty/charge in disposing of it is cleary 'misleading'.

Your initial TOS states that one may return the Webplayer at any time.

Let me just mention on word slashdot

If you don't know the website, then woe is you. Prepare for every c|net, theregister, and news .com site to pick up their upcoming story on
your webplayer.
For the record, slashdot generates over 1.2 millioon hits on its site daily, and it is estimated to have about 4-5 million hits on its stories across
the net.

Certainly good publicity for you folks.

BTW, if you folks aren't involved then just 'file' this thing.

But you ought to be ashamed of yourselves, this thing really does bite.

Even for Grandma and Grandpa....

Wow, it took me two phone calls months ago to do what you have been ranting about for some time now. Do you make a big deal out of it when putting your socks on too?

Uh, I dunno. Sounds like the kind of guy who goes off at the McDonalds drive-thru because they forgot the ketchup.

My analysis: These kinds of explosive behaviors are often rooted in poor potty-training experiences where issues like control, anger, and retribution are acted-out by all the involved parties. Typically, people like bad_packet are never satisfied, difficult to engage in long-term intimate relationships, and fairly narcissistic.

Heh, sure.

More like having to move again, and having to worry about damaging the thing. Then I end up having to pay 500$ ?

And the site is still down?

Yep, crazy. Crazy like a fox.

What's the point of posting this now? As of 11/15 you are no longer bound to their TOS, and as stated by them will incur no penalties for not returning the webplayer. It's your to keep, you paid nothing for it, I don't see any point in bitching about it at this point.
