Install two network cards ?

Hi,

On K-Ray site, I was said that It is possible to install a network card on the
mini-pci (with some soldering).

But is it possible to solder two network cards on the same mini-pci ?
(The network cards can will have different IRQ etc...)

This might be an obvious question for someone but for me it is a mistery.

Thought of that myself, but afaik pci-slots have at least one unique line to distinguish one from another.
So just connecting all lines to eachother I don't think that will work, imho.

Is there another way? Sure, but then you will have to dig deep in the pci-spec and figure it out yourself.
Maybe if you have the chance of having a good look at a combo(modem/ethernet)-card you might get lucky.

The webplayer is still on my 'to-do' list but spare time is nowhere to be found.
I hope to get the old Journals back online in a few days because peoples keep asking me about it.

I suppose two usb ethernet devices would work and be quite a bit cheaper.

Hi,

What I want to build with this is a firewall so I need constant and
good connection so I don't know if 2 USB network cards will be good
for the job. Now I'm using a USB network card but only for retreiving
web site and small files.

I don't know if this exist. A PCI raiser with two PCI slot. Maybe someone
has done the job described by kray and try to sell the product.
A PCI raiser with only one PCI Slot is less than 7$.

I will still have to do some soldering but this is better than nothing.

Sounds to me like you are going to a lot of effort and possibly expense to reinvent the wheel. Good hub/routers can be had for $50 or so now. I bought a D-link at Best Buy and after I got the rebates it was only $20. Just a thought.
