Blue and White screen after 98 bootup? (modified 0 times) NHSam Profile Hi, Win98 was booting up ok for me. Now I am getting the Win98 Logo, followed by a blue screen with a centered white box. What does this mean? I don't think it's the "blue screen of death". I shutdown down with "Shutdown" to prevent problems and then pull the plug. My configuration is as follows: Win 98SE Fujitsu 4.0 GB drive 64MB RAM Disk-On-Chip was fdisk'ed and msdos partitioned as D: USB SanDisk FlashDrive/Card as E: SpeedStream USB 10/100 Ethernet Adapter Built-in 56K activated. Also have ocassional webcam on USB port. Does enabling the 48MB Disk-On-Chip causes problems? Do you think my Win98SE software got wacked? SafeMode boot also gets the blue/white screen. RE:Blue and White screen after 98 bootup? (modified 0 times) TheBigDog Profile My humble opinion for you is to format the HD and reinstall Win98SE all over again. I don't know how you initaially installed the 98SE but I would highly recommend you to have a sepearate partition in your HD that has the setup files (all of them) and you just run setup from there. hope this helps. 04-22-2002 13:16:34

RE:Blue and White screen after 98 bootup? (modified 0 times) NHSam Profile Thanks for the replies. It is now fixed. Basically, I stepped through the bootup on SAFEMODE (pressing CTRL key on bootup). I typed in random characters when I encountered the white box again and got back my 98 Desktop! I disabled all automated tasks and ran scandisk to make sure the disk is ok (the drive is fine)... 04-22-2002 18:53:21
