| Two things... First off, if you put the cable on backwards, it's not going to spin up. (doesn't appear to damage the drive, but it won't spin.)
Secondly, the drive must work off of 5V power, which any notebook drive that you're using should. If you use a desktop IDE drive with an adapter, keep in mind that those are looking for the 12v power, so no, it won't power up unless you hook up an external PS to power the drive. (that's how I got mine flashed in the first place.) | |
