Well, OK, it kinda works. It runs great on the webplayer, and its not very slow. The only problem I have is a sound driver, currently there isn't one. Anybody know what I could do about that?
I've still got the stock 64 in it. It does take longer to start up than it did with windows 98, but once it gets going it runs alright. I don't know to much about XP yet, does anybody know if there might be a way to get the windows 98 sound driver to work in "compatability mode"?
i tried the 98 procedure of copying the cabs to the HD then running setup. This works fine(copied i386 folder and root files) up to the point of the first reboot then i just get flashing cursor.
I had windows 98 loaded onto a hard drive and copied everything on the install cd to the hard drive, and installed it from windows 98. It worked fine for me, but it took about 4 hours...
Since the sound is compatible with the SoundBlaster 16 (IRQ 5, port 220, DMA 1/5), maybe try manually installing an SB16 in the device manager and see what happens.
