Minimal Mod for Web Surfing
What is the minimal modification required to turn it into a capable machine for Web surfing?

I'd like to use the Webplayer for Web surfing on my home network. Is it necessary to add a hard drive to turn it into a full-fledged PC?

Can I, instead, change the DOC to the available Win'98/Opera image and then add a USB NIC? If so, the NIC driver won't necessarily be on the Win'98 DOC image. Can I/should I add it to the DOC via a USB floppy and the standard Windows new hardware install procedure or is there a better approach?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

That should work fine. It would also work for you to go online with the webplayer's modem and download them...
