using a different lcd?

hey, i'm looking at using a different, better quality lcd with the webplayer I have. I am curious as to whether or not anyone has tried this. I seem to be unable to get any info about the lcd controller, so if anyone has any such info I'd appreciate it if you'd get in touch with me.

BE CAREFUL!

There are two video controller chips - one on top of the mobo and one on the bottom. Some of us (including myself) have accidentally fried one of the chips. When that happens, either the top or bottom half of the screen is covered in "snow" and is unviewable.
