Has anyone tried this?

I've found the cheapest NIC, SOHO USB to Ethernet Adapter - 10/100 for $18. Does anyone know if it works with Virgin WP?

Also, has anyone tried the USB-to-USB transfering? The BF-100C USB Data Transfer Cable PC to PC for $15. I wonder if you can use USB-TO-USB for sharing internet, IPX etc. with an coexisiting 10/100 based network?

Cheap, but not Cheapest. Just got a 3Com USB from http://www.tigerdirect.com for $5.00! And it works! What a deal.
Keep on truckin', or hackin' or sit back and watch TV...

Nope, that won't work.

It needs a driver, and some hardware to do it. I was looking into it a few months ago.

You could do some real damage connecting 2 computers together with a usb cable, since they are both trying to put out alot of power through that cable.

Some motherboards have a built in USB networking card. I have a K7T266 Pro(MS-6380) that does. I haven't tried it though. I need to install the drivers and the cabling. (And, I'd rather have the webplayer hooked into my same network connection with my other PC's anyway.) It's cool though, all you need is a standard male to female USB cable. All you have to do is connect one end to the USB networking on the main PC and the other to the USB port on the webplayer.
