Web-email, USB LAN -> OS on DOC or HD ?

Starting to hack a Boundless webplayer...
I need web-email and MS browser ability only, on a LAN.

Was thinking of using the Win98 Lite/IE5 DOC with wireless USB LAN.

Question is: Should I just run this off the DOC? or install a HD?
I have a 6GB laptop drive in an IOpener that I could install, but I figure if I can just use the DOC, it should run faster (right ??), run cooler, and be an easier hack.

Am I wrong on this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the doc would be the best thing to use if you can fit everything you want on to it.

The DOC is considerably slower than a good HD.

Loading Win98 SE off my 6gig laptop drive takes about 15 seconds...
Applications loads pretty fast too, Ive got a USB network adapter coming, so Ill see what I can do with that as well.

Just to point it out, The DOC may be slower than a Hard drive, but if
you are running your whole system off the DOC, after you boot up you
have almost of your DOC in RAM, so it is slower to bootup, but on the
long-term, I think DOC would be faster. (also partially because with
a Hard Drive, people tend to bloat their OS and have more stuff than a
stripped down win98 on DOC. I guess it all depends on what you plan on
using the computer for.
