Help!
Ok, I don't know how I did this, but I'm pretty sure I nuked my video cable. When I got it (compliments of uBid), it worked fine. I open it up to install the hard drive, and now I get no video. The screen powers on, but nothing gets displayed. I can hit F2 to get to the bios, but it just won't display any images.

Anyone know if there i a cheap replacement for this cable, or have a dead one they're willing to part out to help me? I'd really appreciate it, this was supposed to be a cheap first computer for my mom. Now, I don't have anything but a hard drive and 44pin cable!

Thanks!

Did you double check the video cable connections to the socket?
Any nicks on the cable?

Unless you somehow shorted something with the harddrive case, I'm baffled.

After taking my webplayer apart I had the same problem. I had taken the backlight power converter (between the speakers) out and put it back in. In the process I shorter it to something by messing with the plastic wrapping it. Removing and more carefully re-installing fixed my problem. When the backlight doesn't work you can't see anything even though the display is functioning. The backlight is controlled by the small white connector with six small wires. Check it and those wires for problems.

The backlight comes on, it just doesn't display anything to the screen. I've literally had this thing 100% disassembled, plugged in power and still nothing gets displayed, but I know it's booting because the BIOS makes a beep when I hit F2.

hello
did the player ever display anything after you installed the hard drive??
if not it sounds like you may have just connected the ribbon cable backwards casue thats what happens when you do. try it the other way or see if it works without drive attahced

I have the same exact problem. I'm pretty convinced that it's the video cable, but I intend to check it with my multimeter.

paj637, how can I get in touch with boundless technology to see if they can hook me up with a new video cable?
