wiring mini-pci to pci

hello
i was wondering if anyone has any info or has attempted to wire the minipci over to a pci card or slot. i have seen adapters but they are to expensive. i once read somewhere on this board ,but cant find ,that someone did in fact try it and was sucessful so any help would be appreciated

I think it would be too easy to screw up, there are way too many whires to solder, although I think its possible since mini-pci and pci are almost the same thing.

You shouldn't reply back with such a snappy answer, he's only trying to help you man.

It is way too hard to make stuff like this on your own unless you have the facilities to pcb design software and pcb prototyping equipment that can go down to extremely small sizes on the pcb's.

Btw, you don't need ?'s in messages...its not hard to understand that your asking a question without them :P

From an engineering perspective, I would be surprised if you could do this simply.

The PCI spec cites an electrically balanced circuit - remember the signals going down these tracks are just bustin to 'jump' out and interfere with anything they can. Without designing a balanced microstripline circuit, you would screw up all the characteristic impedences of the interface.

So I would say, can be done at home - requires expensive CAD/simulation software to design a PCB bridge circuit.
