New bios/DOC

I just picked up a webplayer and it doesn't come up with the rotating password page. Instead, it gives you the option of going right in and changing your settings.
Anyway, I am wondering if also, this version has a different way to get into the bios since pressing F2 (book) does not seem to do it. I have tried holding it down, then turning the system on, repeatedly pressing it while boooting, and everything in between.
The unit seems to have a resume or something on it since sometimes it takes longer to boot up and sometimes it is almost immediate. Could this be the problem? Maybe I need to pull the battery? Or, maybe my kb batteries need replcing (everything else works fine)
Any suggestions? I need help, as I will not get far if I am unable to enter the bios. (btw, I know the password, just never reach a place to enter it, i tried entering it on the login screen. But, that doesn't seem to work, even after booting with F2
