So I was taking of the LCD to put it in a nice safe place, and I broke the CCFL cable connector

Here are some pics:

Does anyone have this connector? Know where I can get one?

I'd really love for one of you with a borked Webplayer to give/sell me just that connector and a length of wire. I'll just splice it in.

email me chris@REMOVIEavoidthestupid.com

thanks
chris

While I don't have a spare connector,
Digi-Key (www.digi-key.com) or Mouser (yes,
you guessed it, www.mouser.com) should stock that sort of connector for you. I would guess its probably about $3. I poked around for a bit, and didn't see anything exact, but I didn't look closely either.

You also don't have to get the connector exact, if you buy both a plug and receptacle - just the pin count and spacing right. Just replace both the plug and receptacle.

... Or go ultra-cheap, and solder the LCD wires directly to the motherboard ;)

Thanks for the tips.

I'd give trying to solder the pieces on a shance if my soldering skills were a little better than my dog's...he isn't so good at it either. I had to solder a board for a class a year ago, and it took like 7 hrs and resembled the work of an autistic child :(

I may end up soldering it though, getting that socket off will be a pain in the ass, as there is some sort of tape like stuff covering the back of the board right there, and I'm pretty sure the "Yank the Bitch Off" method will only worsen my problem.

Thanks for digikey and mouser though. I'll give them a look see.
