Having problem with Sound on Full WIN98. Drivers present but NO output on speakers/line jack. (modified 0 times) Larryf5 Profile | Email Hi. I've removed XP because I cannot get ANY sound at all. And moved back to 98 where I cannot get sound but I can hear small buzzing, whine and crackling sounds, even though drivers DO work. I have both, National XpressAUDIO 16-bit and PCI-Bridge (version says unknown but dated 8-2-99) under Sound, game controllers on Device manager. I have BIOS set to defaults sound working AND I have heard it before, matter of fact, I tested it on DOC with Win98 Lite, It does produce fair sound. Just not in full Windows 98. I also have NO sound in windows. WHen in the BIOS setup, I can get the keyclicks, so I know that I have the speakers plugged in! If you find an answer, please let me know! I misread the message about muting the line in as to make sure it was NOT muted. When I read it correctly, I see that the line in MUST BE MUTED. Sound now working properly. --Bob 06-29-2002 17:11:06

I have it on MAX and I've tried headphones, I hear a click sounds with the settings enabled in BIOS, I also hear crackling when boost/lowering volume.
