unable to get to rotating pw page

I purchased my wp from boundless via ubid. I am trying to install a hd with win98, but I cannot get to the rotating pw page. I get to this 'system Login' page that allows me to get to ctrl-music setup screen, but not the rotating pw page.

I looked around this board a bit, and could not find a post that matched my problem.

Any suggestions?

The boundless ones dont have that. You don't need that to install windows 98. Hook up your hard drive, and press F2 right when you turn it on. That will get you into the bios.

zmoz, do you mean press f2 (the book key) immediately after plugging the wp in to the power supply?

It does seem to want to work -- I get some flickering on the screen and then ultimately end up at the 'system Login' page, not the bios page.

Any ideas???

Yes, it is the book key. You are probably pushing it to late. Also make sure you un plug it before turning it back on...and as soon as you plug it in press on the book key.

zmoz,

no dice. I yank the power, and immediately after plugging it back in, i press the book key. Doesnt want to go. In the end, I found the machine getting to the boot up progress bar and then hanging indefinitely at about 1/4 complete - do I have damage here?

I even pulled out another wp to try that one (thought maybe f2 on the first was bad or something). No go.

Might boundless have changed things?

The infared keyboard sucks, try pushing the F2 (book)key several times after you plug it in.

hold down the control key while continually pressing the f2 (book key)
