I am looking for the best MP3 software for the Webplayer under Win98. Obviously MediaPlayer is way to resource intensive for this, so what else is everyone using?

Winamp. You still might have to turn down the refresh rate on the graphics but it always loads better than Media Player. Even on my p4 1.7ghz, media player takes a few seconds to start up and Winamp has always been instentaneous.
But that's just my opinon.

Ok, I found a really great small app.... STP MP3. It is very tiny, and on my 200mhz only uses 20-45% of system resources according to System Monitor under Win98se. It also has eq settings and alot of other goodies, like the ability to control it through mouse clicks.
I don't have Winamp, but could someone run it and post how much CPU power is uses?

Even better is a OLD version of winamp ( like 1.7 ). Its tiny, has no graphical visualation and requires very little power. Also look at DAMP, it is a DOS based MP3 player that runs on a 486. Off of the DAMP pages you will probably find links to all the other freeware DOS based mp3 players, lots of people are looking into them.
