USB problem...

I have win98SE installed on my webplayer on a HD. I used to be able to plug in my usb smartmedia reader and it'll pop up in explorer as a drive, but now when I plug in any usb devices, it just sits there, it no long detects it. If I leave it in there and boot it up, it'll recognize it... I did install 98lite then found out my usb no longer works, then I uninstalled it, still no go. Before all this happened, I flashed my doc to 98lite, the doc version was recognizing usb devices just fine as I plug it in. Now both my HD and doc boot of win98 would not recognize the usb. I'm thinking it's somehing in the bios or perhaps some hardware I changed? Anyone have any idea?

well, I found out why. I have to enable legacy USB in the bios. But I swear it was disabled when I first installed 98 on there and it didn't have any problems. Oh well, one more thing to add to the knowledgebase.
