Anyone have a spare mobo?

I got my vantec kit today so i popped off r97, connected the fan and now i get nothing. with the hd attached i get a yellow power light and that's it

With the hard drive disconnected i get a yellow power light for a second then it goes green and the display illuminated but thats it.

i'm guessing i fried something?

Aw man! That sucks! You might try soldering a plain wire between the R97 points where you removed the resistor, I've read some posts that there may be some differences between some webplayer boards. Another method would be to get a 4 pin header and solder it to the R97 and R98 points so you can use some jumpers to play with the clock settings.

Hope something helps get you back up!

i guess i have one of the units that cannot oc to 266. i dry fit a jumper to r98 and it booted up at 233. now i just need to solder it in. Is there any way to tell if a webplayer will work at 266? maybe by a serial or part number or something?

Well glad to hear your unit is still workin! :) It's always a sweat when your diggin into new territory and something goes bad. So far ive been very lucky with mine. "Knock on wood". Ive got a second unit standing by, but havent overclocked it yet, gonna see if it does the same. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks dude. Unfortunately, i'm not out of the woods yet. I can now boot @ 233 but when ME tries to start i get a blue screen that says "Windows protection error. you need to restart your computer. system halted"

and that's as far as i can get. I can boot in safe mode but then it hangs. Not sure what to do at this point.

I'm thinking maybe i'll wipe the HD and re-install ME.
