Thinking ahead here again. As the arrival of my webplayer grows nearer i've been thinking of my car install. I've got my hard drive (trying to sort cable see other post), a suitable invertor, aux input for my pioneer head unit etc...

I think i'm going to go along the win98 route as i think should boot the quickest??? any opinions....

Anyway i was looking through a box of bits i've got and i came across an old mustek usb webcam...... cogs started to turn and i thought why not hook this up as a reversing camera mounted lowish down at the rear. Fair enough without some clever wiring from the reverse lamp switch to webplayer (or remote!) you would have to initiate the camera manually. But at the end of the day you don't need it all the time, just when space gets tight!

compgeeks has an automobile power inverter advertized as putting out 5.3 volts, and undetermined amps.

Does this look like something that would power an in car webplayer? What dangers does it represent to have
Output: 5.3 Volts DC* (unknown amps)

I got myself a brand new sealed belkin 140w 110volt power invertor of auction in the uk for £6.50 inc postage, thats about $10. I'll be far happier using this and the original webplayer ac adaptor, plus this gives me more options for the car in the future.
Big plus -IT WAS CHEAP!
