I just discovered an amazingly simple fix for the no sound problem on my WebPlayer! I simply went into the mixer panel and MUTED the non-existent inputs: Line In and CD Audio.

...Sound now works great! I've been able to play 192k MP3s using Windows media player. Modem and system sounds are also working. About to try out WinAmp because Windows Media Player seems to be maxing out CPU usage quite a bit...

I know which ide, sound and video drivers to use and I posted the original link but which modem driver did you use? The website posted has a bunch of different windows drivers.

He's right! Disabling the Line-In and CD works! I'm running Win98SE with same results. Way to go, ChillyDawg!

Tried ChillyDawg's sound solution and it worked. Then I tried to boost the bass in WinAmps equalizer and the system locked up - after rebooting, I am back to the original 'click' sound problem. I have double checked the mixer panel and I have tried re-installing the sound drivers (including some alternate site audio drivers) - No Luck!! Help!!

Afterdownloading the MediaGX driver set and installing those it fixed all of the problems I was having with the PCI bridge and no sound. Muting the CD and linein worked great as well.. Now on to other things...

Thnaks ChillyDog!!!
