I just discovered an amazingly simple fix for the no sound problem on my WebPlayer! I simply went into the mixer panel and MUTED the non-existent inputs: Line In and CD Audio.
...Sound now works great! I've been able to play 192k MP3s using Windows media player. Modem and system sounds are also working. About to try out WinAmp because Windows Media Player seems to be maxing out CPU usage quite a bit...

Tried ChillyDawg's sound solution and it worked. Then I tried to boost the bass in WinAmps equalizer and the system locked up - after rebooting, I am back to the original 'click' sound problem. I have double checked the mixer panel and I have tried re-installing the sound drivers (including some alternate site audio drivers) - No Luck!! Help!!
