In my continuing search for the IE doc image, I ran across this site. I am in the process of downloading the image, so I don't know if it works or not, but it looks like this is a one-stop shopping point for webplayer files.

Enjoy!

Well, it looks to be a good image. Windows booted just fine after flashing. I have been poking around and found a few additional files that I could delete to create a bit more space on the compressed drive. So far, I have removed WinVNC and WinAmp and a few misc. files (especially in the \windows©ommand directory) and have 11.4 meg free. I need to get it near a phone jack so I can check the IE install, but I am excited so far. The machine I installed it in has 128 meg, but the target machine has the standard 64. Once I get all setup, I'll move the DOC and let you know how it runs. Right now, it's pretty snappy.

Great!! I've been looking for that image for a while now. I deleted it just to make room on my computer quite a while ago, because I thought I could just go get it again...

Okay, IE is working fine, dialup is good, 64 meg is slower than 128 (expected) but not bad. I am making this machine up to give for Christmas to an uncle with no computer experience and even less room. I have a USB->parallel adapter and have an old HP deskjet I am throwing in. I installed the APM mod and the computer enters and exits standby reliably and will even do it on it's own thru. It's a very neat setup. I wish I had a little more free space on the DOC. Right now, after judiciously trimming the directories down, I have about 9 meg free with Naviscope installed. Too bad this isn't a 144 meg DOC...

Anyway- looks good.

One other thing-

the directories under \windows\system\mui can be deleted (except for \0409) afaik. The machine runs fine and it saves a lot of space.
