As it says, I updated my MP3 collection by swapping the HD, accidently plugging it on backwards. Now it wont boot from the hard disk. It can boot from the DOC, and the bios recognises it when enabled.

Putting the disk in another machine still works OK, so I thought it was the mediagx chipset, but that cant be right otherwise it wouldnt detect in bios?

That doesn't sound like something that would kill a webplayer to me, but they are known to randomly die for absolutely no reason. I've killed two myself...although I know I have plugged the hard drive in backwards and everything still worked...

I too have plugged it in backwards and it worked just fine when I got it right (some damn website, following it's instructions on my first unit). It still runs just fine though.
