V3 Problems

New MessageV3 Problems (modified 0 times) roper
I'm now working on my 2nd I-Opener. First one was a V1; this one's a V3. I pulled down all the great FAQs and got to work.

I used Dolly and comfirmed partition configuration - all okay.

I put in the Laptop disk into the IOpener and set boot sequence to D,A,SCSI and set HD parti info as indicated.

The I-Opener screen was the only thing that shows (Logo with different color 'I') - No boot action.

-------
I'm using an IBM laptop disk. Since fdisk showed the correct values (yes, I set bios in source PC and I-Opener as well) - I assume that Dolly did her job.

I played with Master/Slave jumpers to no avail (One interesting note that one setting showed 'invalid boot disk' - Must've been 'master' selection ?).

Oh, yes, with no IDE cable, her highness announced her presence (yes, it boots, never called home).

Anyway, my options seem to be: 1) Re-initialize disk with dolly, 2) Try a different IDE Laptop drive, or 3) Go down the new bios route(no bios work done yet).

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to proceed ? Thanks.

Let this thread die. Just found another like it in Tech-Moderated (sorry I missed it). Of course, if you have suggestions - would be appreciated! - Sorry

Did you press Tab during bootup to clear the I-opener Logo to see if any messages on the screen, ie nonsystem disk , harddisk fail? Waht type of IBM hard drive (some it will not work on)?

This sounds very similar to the problem that I had. After a couple of reboots and getting no HD spin, I reversed the HD cable. Put the red stripe on pin 44 on the back of the io instead of pin 1. Reboot, worked.
