Has anyone hacked a ThinkNic?

http://www.thinknic.com

This basically depends on there being an IDE header on the mobo. If there is one, then you could add a HD and go nuts wit it.

Most likely there is some sort of IDE Header (Assuming that the 24X CD-ROM is an ATAPI Device).
And it looks like it runs a version of linux.

This looks like it could be most promising, considering there is no TOS, and you can set it up to use your own ISP or dsl/cable service. 56K modem and a 10/100 BaseT ethernet, 2 USB and more...
Could just grab one of these for $199+ and use it as a sole internet station for my Cable Modem.

Now the Question is. Whose going to be the first one to shell out $199.99+ for one of these in the name of Internet Appliance Hacking?

Considering that the monitor is not included, it's not a 'steal'

No it certainly isn't a steal. However it is space efficient, stylish black, and probably the cheapest I-Appliance out there, now that the I-Op is officially $399.
