Printers; What works?
Are there any restrictions on what printers can or cannot be used with the i-opener?

I noticed that the virgin i-opener will only drive one particular printer, is that because netpliance only loaded one driver or is there something else that limits our printer selections? I was looking at this printer;

for my i-opener (code NW5J reduces the price by $15) and was wondering if it would work.

With a hacked Opener running Windows98...you could use any printer. I use a Cannon BJC80. Its a small laptop printer....just the right size for the I-Opener...also doubles as a scanner. I have also used an Alps MD1300. Whaterer you want.....Without hacking you're stuck with the ones they support only.

I highly advise that no one purchase from this link. it is a vstore, and vstores are of the exact same breed as crap like all@dvantage referalls. If you do want to buy this printer, go to vstore.com and create your own store and then buy from yourself so that you get the commission they pay.

Anyways. yes the reason that you can only use that one printer is because there is only one driver for QNX (the iopener OS). however like ckbone says, if you have it running windows you can use any printer you want as long as there are windows drivers, and, lets face it, windows practially has drivers for everything.

For an inexpensive USB printer, recommend the Epson Stylus 740.
Of course, requires Windows to operate.
