Hi all, I've searched and I've tried a bunch
of things, so here goes, maybe someone has
seen this:

I've got an IOpener that I've put the rev1
BIOS (nothing but net logo) into. It boots
great w/o a drive, but with either of two
hard drives I have, both of which boot
my laptop, the IOpener won't even display
the boot logo. I have even tried to make one of the drives match the c/h/s of the flash,
no go. Any thoughts?

many thanks in advance.

All the signs point to your cable- as long as you have your drives booting the laptop zero in on the way you have connected your modified ide cable.

I second the bad cable or un-modified cable issue. Even if you have the drive set up wrong the I-O will boot, but if you use an unmodified cable or one with shorted leads I think the power & grounds get messed around and it won't boot.
