try opening it with winzip. if you dont have winzip, get it. you do not need linux to open the archive.

D/l V4 'image file'...contains a dat file>15 Mb when unzipped. Had to change chs on hd to 491/490 - will try dolly. Do not understand why file is too big; it will simply be too big for sandisk.

Will try anyway.

I used the First Post of this Thread

I-Opener Technical Info Reference (MODERATED) V3 BIOS flash step by step
Here's the HotLink
http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=verytech&Post=86&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=

I Believe this is Good for All Versions (maybe not V5 ?)
(for Users of DOS & DOLLY)
I Never had to Set My C/H/S (BIOS set to AUTO & DOLLY took care of the Target Drive.)
IBM drives sometimes are Problems (seems Drive must have More C/H/S than you are setting it to. Can't have Less )

I Hope this Helps, * StarFish *

OK! flashed BIOS w/qnx102. Formatted IBM 3.2G hd making 1st partition active - then formatted with /s and put win98 startup disk in boot partition. Still hard disk boot failure. Tried slave/master combos, etc, etc, and managed to knock sandisk out of hd detection. still no-go.

[dd old toshiba drive: 86Mb. when put in as 'c' drive, booted up with Male voice! flashed - flash good. proof is I can get to BIOS setup using just ctrl-alt-esc...no tab key.]

Any Ideas???

gonna try moving all v2_q102.dat to sandisk, or wipe sandisk and somehow put DOS on it. Laplink?

I don't think it is Your BIOS !
the little Drive that Pretended it was the SanDisk, FDISK it, Make it a Bootable DOS Drive, & see if you can get it to Boot.
(just a suggestion )

OMG! working fine now. You won't believe this:

When i had loaded the IBM 3.2G drive and tried to boot - nogo.
I wont go through what I tried, before discovering this!--->
I had Hd as slave in big system to load. I knew I had to make partition active, which I proceeded to do. upon one of several transfers from sys to Io, I saw a glint. Closer examination I saw that when I had pulled off slave jumper, plastic came off; metal stayed. For 12 hours I was trying to boot off a slave!
WIN98se loaded fine, all drivers. GOD.

Next up: K6-2+. Much praise for this board.
