I ordered an i-opener on 7/16 from CC for 99.99 (I guess right before they raised the price to $399) and it still hasn't arrived. I've been calling CC at least once a week and no luck so far. They are unsure on an ETA as they tell me. Anyone else in the same boat or know any info about this?
Thanks,
ingenite
(Who is kicking himself for waiting so long.)
o well at least I'll get a v4 or v5 that I can use a 333mhz k6 in. =)

Wow,
Good luck! I hope they fill the order, and hope you get a hackable unit. Please post again in a bit with a follow up once you hear from CC or get your unit, sooner or later it's likely Netpliance will finally make something not worth the effort to hack.

I ordered mine on 7/15/2000.
Nobody ever called. Couple days ago I called them
and ask about order status. They said it's in. Went
there yesterday and picked it up. Took them for ever
to find it. Version 4. CC in West Nyack, NY.

Just called Circuit City as it has now been almost 6 weeks since I ordered my i-opener and there was still no sign of it. After being on hold for several minutes. I was finally told that they has discontinued it, my order would not be filled and to come pick up my down payment. Excuse me from being pissed off but what the hell!?! I guess I'll have to resort to getting one on e-bay, oh well it's my own damn fault for waiting so long, but it certainly makes me a little more weary of purchasing from CC.

Hi Ingenite,

As of yesterday afternoon (almost evening) the Circuit City store in Poughkeepsie, NY (store number 3197) had several in stock, call 914-297-5082 ask for Jeff. Cost was $99 plus NY sales tax. He is relatively clueless about what I-Openers are, however he is somewhat knowlegable as to how to discover whats in the back inventory of CC. My suggestion is you not delay long as it is possible by the time you read this others will have as well, some possibly interested in the unopened I-Openers themselves.

If it helps, I visited this store 3 prior times, and each time the sales and front desk staff assured me they had none in stock, only when I found someone who had a clue as to what was really in the back (a manager) did I get a positive. My strong suggestion is for you to visit managers of local stores during off hours and inquire politely (as I suggest you if you do call be polite to Jeff).

Happy shopping!
