Well I had my iop packed in a backpack today to bring to florida to show my brother. My dad was carrying it and dropped it (not far but must of been just enough), when I got to my bros the case was open a little and I had to put back the volume button cause it came off. Anyway when I powered up the green light came on, i heard the windows starting sound and stuff, but could barley see a thing, so I shutdown and restarted and when I looked i could barley see the iop logo and win98 startup screen, ive been looking around and I think it might be the backlight possibly, if this is the case how can I fix it? I saw stuff about soldering or something or replacing a fuse but im not sure, could someone give me some ideas on what to do? I really hope this is fixable, was a great toy and dont want to have to sell it for less than I payed for... I tried messing with the contrast but nothing happend, could it be the brightness? I heard there is a brightness slider somewhere on the mobo, i opened it but didnt read about one being there till like 5 mins ago, maybe ill check it out tomorrow, thanks a ton!!!!!!

with the case open, laying on it's face (only lay the face on something flat & firm, We don't want a Cracked Dispay)
Top left Side, is a Connector (White with 2 wires) above the Speaker.
The easy Fix is this came apart ! I don't know what other connectors are involed & I Hope You didn't Crack the Tube.

I just hit this problem trying to do a cpu upgrade. It looks like the fuse is toast on mine (White capacitor-ish near the transformer in the upper left corner.) Does anyone know what to replace it with?? I can jumper around it and get the display to work, but it was obviously there for a reason.

Thanks,

Vestus
