Tired of looking down at the LCD screen. Im looking for a 4-6 ft. extension arm I can mount on my wall, similar to those used in workstation lites. You know. 2 arms, springs, and wingnuts for holding in place. Would be mondo-cool to be able to reach out and pull it in front of face!
Im searching but search sites are kinda barren on this topic. Any ideas???
Check with the hitechcafe http://www.hitechcafe.com/eShop/default.asp
I bought a thing called a Planar Clean PC from them a while back. It was an I-Opener like device used in hospitals. Built in HD, PCMIA slots and an ISA slot, P120. They used them in hospitals as computer monitoring of vital functions. They had an arm mount just like you want and Hi-Tech was selling them separately.
Hmmm...I found a 4' arm as described. gonna mount it to a nice chair with rollers and put a Battery pack underneath. While im working on this shtuff I'll be able to surf rt. from chair and roll around to part bins. NEAT!
You could also check out the possibility of adapting the hardware from one of those magnification lamps. I bought a very sturdy extension magnifying lamp from Fry's for $50. With all the reports of broken I-Opener screens and all I'd make sure that thing is mounted very securely on sturdy hardware.
Hey Deuce300- you know that arm includes the Planar Clean PC don't you? It is a 13" LCD color display. $600 isn't bad. These things are neat. They go on speacial every now & then for around $150. Hard drive, big display, and expansion. They sell the arm separately. You have to ask.
