NP1000 HELP!
first I-Opener hack not going so well

I was just given a brand new I-Opener model NP100, I opened it up, immediatley connected a PS/2 keyboard and I am running into the following problems...

1. When I press TAB to see boot info, I get a wierd screen (50% black, 50% lines) almost as if the screen can't support the resolution.
2. When I try CTRL+ALT+ESC or CTRL+ALT+HOME on the oem keyb. I get the same screen.

After doing either of these things, if I hit ESC a few times and wait, it boots right into that first-time "Thank you for purchasing..." mode.

ANYONE KNOW WHY?!?!

If you are not using the stock I-Opener keyboard, you have to use a special ps2 splitter, one designed for use of a keyboard and mouse. The splitter you get in the codeman Mod kits, works fine. Other splitters don't. Even stranger....using these splitters requires you to plug the keyboard into the mouse connection.

MRDEATH,

That's an interesting problem. Can you determine the date the IOpener was manufactured? (It's printed on the box somewhere) Basically, I'd like to determine if it's a (defective) V2-4, or maybe a new "V6" that we haven't encountered before. At the moment, I doubt it's a V5 because Ctrl-Alt-Esc simply doesn't work on those models.

Let us know, and then we can speculate further.
