I was wondering if I would be able to hack my i-opener. It was my mom's and she used it for like 4 months and now wants me to build her a PC, so she is giving me the I-Opener. I know that it updates itself occasionally and was just wondering if there were any updates, downloaded from i-opener's servers that will not allow me to hack it. I have not ordered a mod kit yet because I was not sure I could even hack it. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
I recently bought a ver 1 I Opener off of EBAY that up untill July was being used as intended by the Netpliance gods (NOT!!)
All I had to do was add a hard drive and disable the Sandisk in the bios SEE http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl under Cristina. Anyways once I did that I was in business. I think the auto updates change the software on the Sandisk but not the BIOS. GOOD LUCK and HAPPY HACKING!!!
