Okay, I have an I/O coming in the mail. Date on I/O is 6/2000. I have all cables, a 4.3 GB Toshiba HDD, etc on the way. After reading several posts, I kind of figure I will have a V5 bios. If so, do I need to change the BIOS before I can install the HDD, or will I be able to install the HDD without changing anything?
Thanks in advance!
Ian

That date could be a V4. If so and can handle the linux back door you can flash it yourself. Bios will have no goop, so it will be easy to swap out if you want to buy a chip. Minimum hardware needs are a swapped cable and a laptop drive.

After reading a bunch more posts I came to the conclusion that I might have a V4. I ordered a BIOS from BADFLASH. I ordered a V5 Patched BIOS tho. Is this going to be a problem?
