Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to use an iopener (or web player for that matter) here in Australia. The concern I have is the difference in power from outlets
(240V 50hz AC here in australia). Does anyone know what sort of power it requires (milliamps etc..)?
http://www.jameco.com has a nice 20V 2.5A 100-240VAC @50/60Hz power brick PN 169076 for $19.95. It has the power to run any CPU (ie K6-III+ @ 500+MHz). You can even adjust the output voltage down to 19V just like the original iopener by turning a small pot.
You can also use a 240V to 120V converter and then you can use i-opener power supply. These are sold in the US for over-seas travel. With laptops and business travel, there's probably a lot of manufacturers. I've go one which has a dual power mode : 50 W and 1600W. Here's a link to the manufacturer.
