Before I go off and ruin the HP Jornada 820, I would like to know if anyone understands the IBM Microdrive systems (a CF+ Hard Drive I believe) amd the Internals of the Jornada. I know it has a 16MB ROM Chip in there, but I want an alternative OS on the box (not to mention more storage for what is basically an overpriced toy as it stands). Anyone have any ideas?

Go look at CeCity. There was a guy there who successfully converted his CE PPC into a Linux variant.

Pretty cool.
