Lots of advice on this BBS for new $$$ laptop drives.
I'm looking for a reliable source of cheap used 2.5" units.
Thick drives, small capacity not an issue... I need cheap.
Preferably someone who does a steady trade, not a one-time-only source.

TIA

Hey,
I scored on a bunch of 2.5" Toshibas,Hitachi's and Seagates approx. 9-12mm thick Dumpster divin' at a local upgrade center, Capacities ranged from 500mb to 1.3gb...
Some had a few bad sectors but after doing a low level format the bad sectors dissappeared.
These were in boxes and in esd bags that there replacement drives came in.
I traded them for larger capacity at a used computer parts store...

You said you wanted cheap....Can't get cheaper than that!

This used to be a good source for laptop drives. They used to reduce the price daily until the item was free, hence the name onedayfree.

But now they have a minimum that is usually too high, so it has become overpriced.

I've found CompGeeks to be terrific. What planet do you live on?
