IOpener & Win 2000
Is this Possible?

I want to try Win 2000 on my IOpener. Has anyone successfully done this and where would I find the IO drivers for it?

I'm assuming the Win98 drivers will not work.

Thanks
Jeff

all the win9x and win2k works fine with the io.

win2k pro is the fastest and of course would be more stable than win9x. someone at the post said it is so after experimenting with different os on the io.

the drivers would automatically install otherwise i would assume you can use the same drivers available for win9x for the win2k.

go with win2k if your harddrive have room for it.

i personally want to put in my win2k advance server, yup i own a copy of it. but my hd is just 540 meg large, so i can't go there.

I've had it running for a month or so........When you install it all the needed drivers, including the video driver, will install by default. I'm certain the Win98 drivers would not work. The Win2k pro cd has a large data base of every conceivable hardware driver. You only need to install the latest VIA 4-in-one driver. I have it on a V4. I don't know about the sound driver for a V5.

what's this about the via-4-in-1 driver? is it better than the cyberblade and yahama drivers?

by the way, are you still running the portrait program? did the 30 day trial restriction get enforced?

The VIA 4-in-one driver, available off the VIA website (ver 4.25a), made my Win2k install completely stable, it had a tendency to reboot before the VIA driver was installed. This is not a video driver....rather it is a set of special VIA drivers which update the chipset.

When your 30 trial of the Pivot is up, it continues to work, but you start getting nag screens.
