CKBONE or TURBO3
Cool CD-Rom Base on your IOPENER

I can't remember which one of you had the Nice Base on the bottom of your IOpener, it's the one with the built in CD-Rom, I believe it's a laptop docking station of some sort. Could one of you answer this for me, and if possible let me know where I may be able to pick one up. I looked all through the search, it's gotten to big to find anything easily anymore, so what's one more post anyway. I am sure either one of you would be able to answer this for me and I'd like to thank you for your time in advance. I snagged one of those HSN IOpeners and I am watching the dollars pouring into it and I haven't even gotten it yet. One of my projects got way up in bucks, it turned out really nice, but I don't think I want to go there again :) . Anyway, thanks again...

Sorry, I don't have it. Perhaps it was CKBONE. I do recall seeing it here but don't recall who had it.

It's mine ok. Here's a link to the photos: http://photos.yahoo.com/ckbone63123 I've got two so far off E-Bay ($30 and $22) Be patient....they appear all the time. Do an E-Bay search for Hinote. It's called mobile media. Fairly easy hack, using a Badflash custom cable.

Hiya ckbone,

Thanks for your time dude, I appreciate the info. That really looks good the way it fits under there.
Maybe I could get your email, I need to know if it knocks out the flash DOC in order to be detected.
As for cables, I ordered 24 inches from N W Cable way back, and they sent me 24 feet.
I've been using it to mod all these IOpeners. I just got more ends from them today. If you need
a special cable let me know, I think I still have about 18 FEET left :)
I have a junk mail account at jfjward@hotmail.com , it's my just for junkmail ward for junk mail addy.
Maybe you could shoot your email there ? Thanks again...

Tinman....When you boot successfully with both a hard-drive and a cdrom, the sandisk is not detected at all, cannot be accessed, or even seen in Windows......If you disconnect the cdrom, the sandisk will automatically return, and be a drive letter. IDE specs only support two devices per channel. Too bad somebody has not come up with a hack to overcome this.....probably not possible.

what kind of cable/connections is used between the Iopener and the Hinote?

are you using a standard 44 pin cable from the IDE header on the Iopener to connect to the Hinote?

Any info would help.

Thanks

It's a standard 44pin cable from Badflash. His price is so cheap I wouldn't even try to make it. Over-all length depends on your setup. My cable is 25" long. The first section is 18" to the cdrom...then another 7" to the hard drive. It should have had a 20" or so first section to allow for more screen tilt. The red stripe is on the right with all connectors facing down. This cable also carries the power to the cdrom and hard drive so no other cables are necessary. Read through the long topic on this hack (second of my links above). I really like my setup....it's been working great. I'm using the two speakers you see in the front...dis-connected the stock speakers. These speakers are much better. As you can tell, the cable is split for better routing. The cable with connectors will fit through the cut-out second USB hole...tight fit but it's possible.
