I highly recommend that you should use Win 2000 professional with the I-Opener provided if it is running with the original processor. I tried to run it with Win 98Se and found that it was much slower and also needed to download the driver for the LCD, with Win 2000 all the driver was included and didn't need to download anything. I am not sure if Win 2000 will support other processor ie.(AMD K-6, or other processors). If you try and find that it is working with the processor you're working with, please don't hesitate to let me know what processor and how you manage to put 450MHZ proceesor in your I-O. All i can say is try and find out if it will work for you, good luck!

RE:Can I use Win 2000 pro on my i-opener (modified 0 times)
Yes,
You can run Windows 2000 with the I-Opener, I have run with the winchip, the AMD K6 III and K6 III+ and with the RISE (though not that much with the RISE). Search for W2K and you should find several threads. The biggest issue is memory,128MB makes more of an improvement than upgrading processors in performance. My suggestion is install W2K (which of course is amazingly stable) and enjoy (I know I do )

I've been running Win2k for several months now on a V4, pentium200, 128meg ram. Works just fine......I did need the VIA 4-in-1 drivers to achieve stability on my install. No other drivers were needed.
